Books on Buses provides all students K-12 the opportunity to choose a book, take it home, keep it, read it, or return it for another book. This free access to children's literature helps build a stronger community, sustain students through their rigorous academic curriculum by having free access to literature, and encourage children and their parents to enjoy the love of reading.
The Foundation purchases a wide selection of new and gently used books that are available on our Gladstone School District buses. Students of all ages can choose from a wide variety of genres.
The book bags were specially designed by the Gladstone Public Library Foundation, and has been a huge success to promote literacy for all our students.
We would like to thank our community partnership with Clackamas Bookshelf, who have helped the Foundation with our books on buses project. Please CLICK HERE to see their Facebook page for more information about Clackamas Bookshelf.
Another way to help keep our buses filled with books is to donate quality children's literature. Drop new or gently used children's books off at our local library, marked "Books for Buses".
